En Shchekachev geeft op/gaat door zijn vlag in een stelling waar niets aan de hand is. Ik heb geen redenen gezien om te twijfelen aan het toernooi in Chennai, maar dit is allemaal wel erg opzichtig. Lijkt me zelfs een ciacolteaatje (naar de Roemeense grootmeester die een partij verloor die hij eerder op exact dezelfde wijze gewonnen had).

Meende me ergens te herinneren dat zoiets niet was toegestaan en vind ook dit op de site van de FIDE:

5.2 If the pairings are to be restricted in any way – for example, players from the same
federation shall, if possible, not meet in the last rounds – this shall be communicated to the
players as soon as possible, but not later than the start of the first round.
